DECONSTRUCTING REALITY
D'aja Alexander
                                                               Artist Statement
D’aja “D” Alexander was born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina, where she was given the opportunity to express herself through art from a very young age. Throughout her adolescence she was engaged with the arts to the point where she felt that she could not live without them, as if art was a part of who she was as a person. In this exhibition, Alexander’s artworks consist of renderings of landscapes and scenes using 3D digital programming. These artworks stem from her desire to create environments in a realistic way in order to break the barriers of reality. She wants people to be able to look at her art and wonder if they are photographs or digital creations of real life specific atmospheres. Alexander believes that there is an abundance of elements in the world so you can never run out of things to inspire you, which leads to infinite possibilities of creations.
